NOTICE OF UNKNOWN SERVICE LINE MATERIAL LETTER

Some customers will be receiving a letter in the mail asking for help identifying their home’s service line material which is between the water meter and the home. VRUC is required to create an inventory of all water service lines from the main to each home. This includes both VRUC owned and homeowner owed portions of the service line. The type of materials used in the service line is the concern. VRUC has data on the majority of these lines however several lines still require identification.
Customers who receive this letter should please call the office at 812-539-3330 to receive further information and schedule an inspection if needed.
The letter as required by the State of Indiana gives information on what to do if you have or suspect your home has lead contamination. As of this time, we have not found any lead contamination. Our water quality report is available on our website and a paper copy is available at the office.
