What regulatory bodies oversee VRUC?

The Board of Directors and IDEM (Indiana Department of Environmental Management)

Is VRUC a separate entity from the HVL POA, or is it controlled by the same people?

VRUC is a separate entity.  

Are there regular meetings of the VRUC Board that are open to the public?

There are quarterly meetings on the second Tuesday of the month at 8 am at the VRUC office at 19435 Alpine Drive.

If a customer wants to be on the Agenda for the Monthly Board Meeting, what do they need to do?

A form must be filled out and returned by Thursday at noon prior to the meeting.

What can I do about my low water pressure?

If you have a regulator, it could be going bad. VRUC sells Water Booster Pumps below cost for $300.00

How will I be notified if there is a “Boil Water” Notice?

What is the typical household Usage and Water and Sewer Charge?

For a typical family of 4, expect usage of between 4,000-5,000 gallons.

What phone number should be called if I have a major water leak inside my house?

Call the Emergency number (812)290-7254

What do I do if I suspect a water leak in my yard?

Call the office number (812)539-3330, if it is during business hours, a crew member will be dispatched to check the meter. 

What do I do if I smell sewer gas in my home?

Call the 24-hour Gas Emergency phone number 1-888-784-6160.

Why are there additional access caps along the sewer line in my yard?

They are sewer clean outs, for the use of the home owner and the water and sewer utility.

When can I use my Separate Water Meter and when should I call in my reading?

You can use your Separate Water Meters from April 15th thru October 15th.  We should verify your reading before you start to use it for the season.  You can call our office to verify the reading.  You can call in your reading between the 15th and 20th of each month.

If the due date falls on a Saturday or Sunday, will I receive late charges if my payment is put in the payment box over the weekend?

No you will not be charged with late fees.  Any payment put in either of our two payment boxes is not considered late.  We pick up the payments from both payment boxes at 7:30 am.
Please do not put your payment in our Post Office Box at the top of our driveway.
